GAGA Fashion And McQueen

Fashionista it is! She may not always hit the right note with fashions reminiscent of Marilyn Manson and David Bowie – but the girl’s got balls and she’s tricking the world into loving them.
Duck taped in yellow or restrained in silver, the 24-year-old punk-rock pop Gaga hasn’t met our anticipation for wardrobe malfunction yet (Too bad!?). Take Madonna-esque extremes, Ace of Base rhythms, and the latest fashions off the runway and you’ve got a recipe for what’s to come: status – fashion-icon.

Remember the “Poker Face” video? Well that little piece of thunder around her neck has been auctioning off at winnit.com over the last few days, which means you still might have time to swank it. Imagine the fame you’ll surrender after dawning that? If she becomes all that she wants, one day perhaps that piece will earn spots in top fashion exhibits – and the highest bidder will hit the money-train BIG.

Kidding aside, Gaga’s no fool. Every piece of fashion she parades is etched in cloth only by today’s top designers; it’s an exclusive club! So think twice for doubting her choices. For instance, remember those terrifying lobster-claw shaped “Armadillos” from her “Bad Romance” video? None other than the late, great Alexander McQueen designed those for his 2010 spring collection. Remember the red lace see-through outfit at the 2009 MTV Music Awards? Alexander McQueen, baby!

Lady Gaga has been in fact dubbed McQueen’s muse, indeed not a small claim to make in the fashion world. His own eccentricities pair fairly well with hers, and she has been shown to wear his clothes just about everywhere and in any form: everything from jackets, glasses to shoes, Gaga wears each piece to a T.

On a sad note and if you haven’t already heard, the British fashion designer was found dead at his London home in February of this year; reports say of apparent suicide.

Born into a working-class family in London’s East End, McQueen rose to fame in 1991 after graduating from London’s celebrated St. Martin’s College of Art and Design.

McQueen was the creative director of his own label which was majorly-owned by Gucci. He’s also a four-time winner of the British designer of the year award.

Perhaps Gaga’s timely gain in fame and catch in momentum paired esoterically with McQueen’s death, and might prove to inspire the Marilyn Manson and David Bowie mesh for years to come.
